The dress has a really bad smell

I bought this dress during the sale in January 2019. I was super excited when I got it. The dress had a really bad "cheap perfume/BO" smell to it, so I washed it in Woolite and let it air dry. The smell never came out. Its in all of the thread. I am returning it. I hope no one has the same problem.

Wearable for 40+ women

Like many, I wasn’t sure any Lily styles would look good on a woman in her 40’s, but this works! It is bra friendly and being somewhat fitted through the torso helps it not look like a Mumu. It is very long. I’m 5’4” and will have to get it hemmed even to wear with heels, but since I got it during the after party sale I don’t mind.

The colors are much prettier in person. The medium fits well, but it is so long that it drags on the floor. I will need to get it altered before the summer comes, and I am sure I will enjoy the dress.

Smelly

Bought as final sale item online. I have washed it repeatedly and cannot seem to get rid of the smell initially moth balls and perfume, now jus perfume. It is awful. Somebody clearly had this in a stinky house or wore it and returned it. It never should have been resold. I am seriously considering never purchasing LP due to this. Where is the quality control?

Comfy dress to dress up or down

Purchased this on final sale and was a little nervous about the sizing. My bust and waist fit the small, but my hips were a medium on the size chart. I went with a small and I'm glad I did. This maxi has plenty of room to accommodate some curves. I'm 5'7" and the length is perfect for me to wear with flats (it's an inch off the ground).

I love the cut of this dress! It is universally flattering and the perfect length. I am 5 foot 7 and a flat sandal will work perfectly. I got a size medium and it runs true to size.

I can’t stop wearing this!

As comfortable as a nightgown and causal enough to wear with flip flops. The fabric and shape keeps it appropriate for casual wear. This is an “everyday” dress for me. I’ve worn it to church, for appointments and even for running errands. The leg slits are a bit high on me so I find it cool and comfortable in the heat but would not wear it for work.

I bought this dress for an upcoming trip to Europe and I can't wait to wear it. I'm 5'6" and it is long. I had it hemmed and it was well worth it. I'll get lots of wear out of this dress. So glad I purchased it!

Not for the average height

I love this dress, however based on the picture on your website, the model is wearing flats and the dress doesn't look long on her, HOWEVER, it is so long I would have to wear 4 inch heels or more to wear it. I am not a short person - 5 6", but in order to wear this I will have to pay to have it altered. Back to the store it goes.

I am a big fan of the Essie dresses and this maxi style is just perfect. It is the same fabric as the short Essies ,a lightweight fabric that is breathable for hot days, but not see through. the fit of this dress seemed to be just a tiny bit larger than the other Essie dresses. I also love the colors and print too. I would love more Essie Maxi dresses.

Perfect for maternity and beyond

I’m currently 21 weeks pregnant with twins and this dress is perfect. Rather than spend money on maternity dresses, I bought a few forgiving Lilly dresses in my first trimester and they are still going strong. This dress in particular stretches nicely to accommodate my bump while not stretching out (meaning I can wear it after delivery). I’m 5’7” and a medium pre-pregnancy. Because this dress is roomy, I bought a medium and I still have room to grow.

Night this dress while on vacation in Palm Beach! I’m 5’9” and hourglass 127 pounds. Bought Small. Fits like it was made just for me, and almost grazes floor- just how I like it! Actual dress a bit lighter looking than colors in pic. Beautiful dress. More patterns please!

This dress is an easy breezy summer style that can be worn almost anywhere... loving the blues and turquoise in this maxi! The fit is true to size and I'm 5"6 and didn't need to get it hemmed which was a plus!
