What is the value of engineered print ?

I ordered 8 of these with matching napkins and the white background runner in the same pattern. Napkins like the runner would be better. The dark fabric is stiff for napkins and the combination of napkins and placemat needs a color break. I spend time searching for “engineered patter” on the internet. I’m still not sure why table linens profit from engineered print. One reason may be that a pattern can be scaled to the object and placed in the best position on the object. Anyway, I am pleased with the placemats.
