Alexa Maxi Dress

So glad I bought this dress! I nervously waited for sizes to come back in stock, and sized up to a 4 based on recommendations that it runs small. Turns out it was a little big, so I’m now waiting on a 2 to arrive. No question, this is the favorite dress in my closet, and I can’t wait to wear it on my birthday! If it helps, I’m 5’ 8”, 134 lbs and 34B up top! Happy shopping!

Oh, Lilly! I had such high hopes! I have been longing for a sewn patchwork maxi for years now. What is up with your colors?? I'm sorry to say, but they ARE NOT PRETTY! Please return to the beautiful brights of the past: sky blue, grass green, strawberry pink, lemon and lime! Enough with the hideous purples and neon!

Very loyal Lilly lover over the last decade and this dress is no disappointment! This fits true to size but is tight on a larger chest unless unzipped (34DD). If you have a narrow waist, you may need it tailored--mine is about 3 inches too big. I'm 6 feet tall so the length was perfect for me with a short sandal. The fit is similar to vintage Lilly with a cotton madras patchwork--no stretch. So if you're accustomed to vanity sizing, S/M/L sizing, or the stretch of many other Lilly products--you will likely want to check measurements closely.

I bought two sizes based on the feedback and kept the larger size. It does run small, think vintage sizes. It is absolutely stunning and beautiful. It does run super long, I’m 5’8 and had to get it hemmed. Worth every penny paid!!!! Thank you Lilly for bringing back the 60’s!

This dress is absolutely gorgeous!! It does run small so size up and the length is very long so it has to be hemmed for my height. I am afraid to take it to be gemmed because I am scared they will ruin my dress so I am waiting patiently to find the right person to do the job. :)

I expected more from Lilly! The dress is beautiful, but the fit is horrible. I expected Lilly to use more vintage Lilly patterns in a 60th Anniversary dress. The patterns are from patterns that did not sell well in my opinion. The dress runs at least 1 size small.

after stalking the website for several weeks waiting for my size to become available and reading the reviews, I was very excited when I was finally able to order this dress. However, as soon as I saw the very small box it was delivered in, I knew immediately that it was not going to be what I expected. The fabric is very thin and the dress overall is very underwhelming...especially given the over $400 price tag!!! My usual size fit but the arm holes were to big and gapped in a weird way on the sides. Needless to say, this dress is on its way back.

This dress is amazing. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it does run very small in the bust. I am praying my alteration guru can give me about 2" in the top, which I think he can. It does run small, for sure. It really has a vintage fit. It is worth the extra expense and effort I will put in to making this dress work.

Thank you for returning to the Classic Lilly that I adore! This dress is perfection... from the true patchwork piecing to the gold embellishments. I love the front zip on the chest that allows you the choice between a high collar look or you can unzip to showcase your favorite necklace. The high slits are tasteful and allow you to showcase your gorgeous sandals.It ran generous to true to size for me. The fit indicator said I should purchase a size 4 (that would have been much too large). I bought a size 2 which fits perfectly in the chest but is a bit loose in the waist (the size 0 hugged my torso perfectly but was a bit too snug in the chest). It does run long so would need shortening for petite gals. I am 5'7" and this maxi hits at the precise length for a maxi with 3 inch wedges. I adore this dress and am sure it will be a standout when the warmer days arrive in Michigan. Thank you Lilly for bringing me such a sunshiny dress that I will treasure for years to come!

Love the length and length is in line with other Lilly Maxi Dresses but it runs about 2 sizes smaller then all of my other Lilly (even one that is exactly the same outline). I couldn't zip it passed my boobs.

Purchased this dress and was disappointed that the seams were ripped in a few spots. Seems poorly put together - especially for the price tag! How disappointing.

This was an early Mother’s Day gift for mom and she loves it! She said she will wear it for the rest of her life!

I plan on wearing all summer. The dress is so beautiful, looks great on. My only complaints are that it is way to long and the lining stops at top of thigh. I’m 5’8” and even with 3” heels it stills needs several inches taken off. I only hope the lining will not ride up, which would make dress uncomfortable. I also think it was a “cheap” finishing detail to put on an expensive dress.

I ordered this dress online because my local store did not have it. Unfortunately, I had to return because it didn’t fit like my other Lilly shifts. There is a seam at waist which makes it a snugger fit in the midsection. The top was too big on me, so I couldn’t just size up. I was so disappointed because it’s a beautiful dress, so that’s why I gave it 4 stars.

Love,love,love this dress. Ordered normal size and size up after reading reviews. Guess what? Normal size fit perfectly. I think it's true to size. Saying that If you wear a size in a lilly shift with no stretch thats what you will be. Most shift cotton lilly dresses have no stretch in them. I am still happy I ordered both sizes because I wanted to be sure I had this dress. Now someone at my lilly store will be so happy when I return it and its on the rack waiting for them :)

Spectacular combo of both vintage and new Lilly features! Looks great on! Runs very small. Safe to say go up a size or two given the limited quantities.

I bought this and was so distraught because I needed to size up. Fortunately my girls at Legacy were able to find one. I will always be indebted to them. This dress is a dream!

This should have been so much better for a 60th anniversary! It is about 12 inches too long , only lines to the knee . The fabric is odd - it looks like no other lilly fabric I have seen before - it has odd stripes woven in - why they didn’t make a fabric with the most popular prints is beyond me . The dress I got had wonky stitching . Why pick a dress that runs about 2 sizes too small and is way too long ? A fit model would be so useful - this was way too long - other thins Lilly makes are way too short .

Love the dress, was so excited to get it, but it was too small. I wear a solid 8 in Lilly dresses. Unfortunately, the size 8 was too tight. I am so disappointed. The 10 is sold out.

I just received my Alexa Maxi today it is fantastic!!! The fit is beautiful and the fabric is true Lilly quality.

This is a gorgeous dress. It runs snug. I had to size up. Usually a size 4 and got a 6.

What you don’t notice about this dress is that the front has a zipper so you can adjust how much you want to show. It is also made of patches like a quilt. It was a little tight in the chest for me but I’m large up there.

This dress is the best thing I have ever ordered from Lilly. The details on this dress are beautiful. Being pai shaped I typically can never find a shift that works. This one did. I would say this dress runs a little small.

I was so hesitant to spend this much money for a dress but after receiving it I realized it was worth every single penny! It’s absolutely stunning, and SO well made. I love the patchwork and the gold detailing. I will say this material has no stretch and is quite structured so I would go up one size! I bought a 12, and it fits identical to my size 10 shifts.

This dress is perfection! I have always wanted a maxi dress like this. It reminds me of classic Lilly. The patchwork prints are gorgeous! I bought my normal size 16, & it goes on but is a little tight in the chest. I may end up having it let out some.

This maxi, the Alexa, is another example of why I love LILLY!! The cut, the fit, the colors and vibrant colors are uniquely LILLY!!

The Alexi maxi is definitely an A+ in the traditional madras and special 60th anniversary print. It's super long and even I at 5'10" will need to hem it if I'm going to wear flats. Rethinking that. The gold brocade is fabulous down the front and on the two side slits. The collar is interesting and flattering as it starts out as a mandarin collar in the back and cuts down to lay flat. It has a zipper in the front alowing a girl to choose how much skin to show. The sizing was accurate to the measurements in the Lilly P. chart which is what I used to decide on the size. It may need some adjusting, but overall I'm very happy with my new Alexa!

I bought this a few days ago and can’t wait to wear it! I adore the fit, cut and the patchwork and gold detailing. It stopped traffic in the store and know it will make an entrance! It is very long- I am 5’8” and will have to wear heels with it. It’s festive and fun... whimsical way too much fun!

When I saw a sneak peek of this dress on social media it was LOVE at first sight. I was told there was very limited production and it was sure to seek quickly. I’m so happy that I was able to get my hands on one! For a longtime Lilly lover like myself, this dress is so reminiscent of the “classics”. Thick structured cotton, individual sewn patches, gorgeous trim details and bold vibrant colors. Worth every penny! Note: it does run small IMO.
